Yes, this is a very historical day. Trisha has a blog, oh my. LOL. I am really exicted to have my own blog so that I can share my thoughts and experiences with the world. Actually that's a little intimidating, but oh well.

First of all I am married to the greatest man in the whole world, Travis. We have been married for almost five years now and I have loved every minute of it. Well, except for the fifteen months that he spent away from me when he had to go to Iraq. That was really hard for the both of us. I still struggle with emotional end of that deployment. I'll write about all that later. But, I'm sure it was a lot harder on him that it was on me. I'm not sure that I have more respect for any one person than I do for him. I am very proud of him for what he sacrificed for me and our country.

We recently bought a house in my lovely hometown of Syracuse. I grew up here and I absolutely love it here. Especially having my family right next door if I ever need them. This house is old and it needs a lot of repairs and remodeling done. I wouldn't consider it a dream home, but we're making it into ours. I guess I can say it's my dream home because it's mine to share with Travis and our future family. It's so nice paying the bank for something in return in the end than it is paying a landlord for nothing. And it's nice being able to decorate how I want. And pick what color paint I want, what kind of flooring I want, etc. It's really a big sense of freedom to own your own home. This house is really growing on me the more work we put into it. So far we have the front room pretty much finished. I have an antique theme going for it with old, old family pictures and other heirlooms decorating the room. I'm fascinated with history and my own family history, so it's fitting that I have one room devoted to just that. But anyway, I got off the subject just a little. Right now I'm working on getting wallpaper off the walls in my living room, which is quite a job. There's some places where there are quite a few old layers. Really it's not much fun to do. I'm hoping to get the walls smoothed out with drywall putty and paint it within the next couple of weeks. Then, who knows what I'll start on next. Travis has been working on making new garage doors. Some clown put in a sliding glass door as a garage door. ??? But that's comin outta there! Trav has done a great job on making them though. He's routed them all out and pieced them together. They look amazing. They need stained yet though.

Other than that there isn't much going on in my life right now. I have been spending probably way too much time online lately.
