What I've Been Up To

I hope everyone's having a great summer so far. I haven't heard from anyone for awhile. Trav and I have been doing quite a few different things lately. He has started his drag racing season and is doing great. Last Thursday was his first race at the Kanawha Valley Dragway (www.kanrace.com). For the most part is just a chance for test and tune. He was the only four wheeler that showed up so he raced against crotch rockets. He actually beat one! I was really proud of him. I think he will race again there tomorrow night, and on Sunday he will be racing in Ripley.

We have also been in our pool alot and riding the motorcycle around town and on back roads in the evenings and weekends as a way to beat the heat. I'm loving having our own pool and being able to get in and relax and play around.

I have started walking also. I'm up to 3 miles in 1 hour now. That's good for me. I decided to do it as a way to lose some weight along with joining Weight Watchers about 8 weeks ago (www.weightwatchers.com). I have been doing really well on it. I've lost close to 15 pounds and the walking has helped me lose inches. My goal is to lose 30 pounds all together by Labor Day. I'm not sure if I'll make it or not, but it seemed like a good number to work towards.

I also joined a knitting club in Parkersburg at the store Market Street Yarn and Crafts. We are doing different blocks from a book called 200 knitted blocks. We are doing one block per month. Of course I messed mine up last month, but the ladies there are really great and helped me figure out my mistakes, so even though I'm behind now, I'm on the right track and still learning different techniques. I'm hoping to continue making blocks after the 12 we are doing in the club so I can make an afghan. I think that would be really pretty.

That's about all for now. I hope to hear from everyone!
