Project 365: Days 52-56

Day 52:

Today is my Dad's birthday...Happy Birthday Dad!!!

For today's picture I decided use the felt I've bought for my Moose and Zee project. I always do bad with remembering to take pictures on Sundays so this is what you get...

Day 53:

Job hunting day. Mr. Fix It found a few jobs to apply for. Most companies are only accepting applications online now, I was surprised at how many.

Day 54:

Now it's my turn during birthday week...My Birthday!!! Mr. Fix It took me to eat at Outback. They wished me a Bonzer Birthday and gave us a free ice cream sundae to share, which was delicious. I had a really good time...Thanks Mr. Fix It!

Day 55:

Mr. Fix It put up a shelf for me in the laundry room. Looks good, huh?

He got aggravated about the screws that he bought for the project. It was kinda funny that we had this conversation where we had decided that him buying nuts and bolts, etc. was like me having a thing for buying office supplies so I agreed to let him buy some to do this and he didn't end up liking them. But whatever he ended up using works and it looks great! Thanks again Mr. Fix It!

Today is my Father-in-laws birthday...Happy Birthday!!!

Day 56:

This is what Dalen is stuck on lately. He constantly has to push this heart button so it will light up...

And I just have to share this story. The other morning I was feeding Dalen oats for breakfast. He was getting full and didn't want anymore so I asked him, "Dalen, do you want some more oats?", and he says just as plain as anything, "No Mommy No." It was the cutest thing!

Project 365: Days 50-51

Day 50:

Dalen and Nana having fun at lunch together...

Day 51:

I'm finally finished cutting out blocks for our rag quilt! I did procrastinate a bit, but I'm glad it's done. This is what 80 6x6 blocks looks like...

Aside from working on Dalen's blanket that I'm knitting I have decided to do the felt Moose and Zee project from the Nick Jr. website. My friend Anna made them and did an excellent job. I normally wouldn't do anything like this, but Dalen loves Moose and Zee so much I almost have to make them for him since you cannot buy them as stuffed animals anywhere. Anna is a great crafter so I hope mine turn out half as good as hers. So look pictures of that project to come soon.

Project 365: Day 49

Day 49:

Not much exciting happened today. But it's Thursday and that means we have church in the evening. Here we are getting Dalen ready to go...

There used to be a variety of animals glued on the wall, now there is only a sad little zebra. The rest have either fallen off or has been ripped of the wall by little hands, I will mention no names...uh hum. I know the culprit likes to carry the fallen animals around while saying their names as a memorial, "g'rat" (giraffe), and "nkey" (monkey).

Project 365: Day 48

Day 48:

Today is my Mom's birthday...Happy Birthday Mom!!!

After having "Birthday Lunch" with my Mom, I decided to take Dalen to Story time at the library. I was alittle skeptical at first thinking he would never hold still enough, but he did great! There were lots of toys in the children's book area that Dalen was fascinated with, of course I had to do alittle bit of chasing, but it wasn't too bad. The librarian read a Valentine's Day pop up book and Dalen absolutely LOVED it! After reading two short books we got to do crafts. We made Nana a special birthday present from Dalen. Here's some pictures of the event...

He reluctantly got to stick his thumb into some pink paint for the craft. He made thumb prints on the heart. The tag says, "Thumb-body loves you." It's very cute.

Project 365: Days 44-47

Day 44:

Mr. Fix It and I went out on a date for Valentine's Day. We decided to go out on the 13th since the 14th was on a Sunday and we knew we had church and would be crunched for time otherwise. He took me to eat at Ruby Tuesdays and then to see the movie 'Dear John.' Dinner was pretty good, other than some guy that got all bent out of shape because he thought I was trying to cut in front of him in the line to get our name on the seating list and then proceeded to give me some kind of mean stare down. It was weird. But to beat all, the guy was there with another man. Now think what you will.

We were both nervous about seeing this movie since Mr. Fix It spent a year in Iraq and what we went through with that experience. There were some parts that were hard to watch, but overall it was a good movie. And I think it helped bring up a good conversation between the two of us about our own issues.

Day 45:

Happy Valentine's Day!

Day 46:

We got to see my Aunt and Uncle who are in from Wisconsin. They brought Dalen a couple University of Wisconsin Badger stuffed animals and a t-shirt. They live right outside of Madison. They had to move out there to find jobs and hopefully will only be out there until they are old enough to draw retirement. We know all too well how sad the job situation is around here.

Dalen and his Great Uncle John

Day 47:

Something about this outfit reminds me of Mr. Fix It's BDU's. It kinda made me sad to see Dalen in those clothes after I had that thought. I totally have all the respect in the world for our military, but I'm not sure I could handle Dalen being a soldier. He does make a handsome one though!

More snow is on the way! I think this has been a record for snowfall around here, if not it should be close!

Project 365: Days 41-43

Day 41:

Mr. Fix It and Dalen had a tickle fight.

Day 42:

It got to be bedtime before I realized that I hadn't taken a picture for the day. So in the spirit of being funny, I took my camera, ran in the living room really fast, like something was after me, and took this picture of Mr. Fix It. Yes this maybe got a bit out of hand, but his facial expression was hilarious. Believe it or not, but I get this look from him quite often. :-)

Day 43:

Dalen finally figured out the whole purpose of crayons. We are proudly displaying his artwork on our refrigerator.

Have a Happy Valentine's Day!

Project 365: Days 37-40

Since it's been over a month for my Project 365 I'm losing count of what day I'm supposed to be on. I already had to go back through and correct some of my posts because, sadly enough, I can't count ;-).

Day 37:

Well after 2 + years of school and having a baby we have started working on remodeling our house again. We are working on the laundry room. Here's a "before" picture.

Nifty tile, right?

Day 38:

Well, it was Sunday and after church I slept all day. I've been fighting a cold and not to mention I love sleeping! Nothing spectacular happened to take a picture of so I took and "after" picture of the new flooring in our laundry room.

I think it looks really good! Thanks Mr. Fix It! We have bought paint already so hopefully we can do that tonight before The Bachelor comes on. I hate to admit, but I love that show.

Day 39:

This evening Mr. Fix It painted the laundry room. I'm pretty sure he hates the color, but I'm usually the only one in there so I wanted a bright happy color to cheer me up while I'm doing laundry. Here's the "after" painting picture...

We still have some drywall work to do in there and we're wanting to put a white shelf going across the wall behind my washer and dryer to up detergent and cleaning supplies. The opposite wall is weird in that it is like the outside of our house because the laundry room and bathroom was a build on years ago. But I think it gives the room character so we are leaving it as is. But what makes it even more weird is that there was a window there lol. Yes, it looks very strange but I think we are going to put some shelves in there painted the pink color to give it the opposites look, hopefully that will take care of the awkward covered up window situation.

Day 40:

Ugh. More snow...

I just wish that if the weather man forecasts 4 inches, we get it! Last weekend we were supposed to get 12-15 inches and maybe got 2. I was so disappointed!

Project 365: Days 34-36

Day 34:

Dalen and I went to meet Mr. Fix It's Mom for lunch and she gave Dalen this adorable Valentine puppy. He loves it so much he walks around saying "Puppy!" all day long!

Day 35:

I have begun the new knitting project. It's called Bias Blanket and the pattern can be found here. It's actually pretty easy and is going fast. I found all my yarn at Walmart. They are the Vanna White baby yarn. I love the colors.

Day 36:

I have talked Mr. Fix It's Mom into making a rag quilt for us. But in doing that, I've enlisted my own cutting services. I am using old clothes from my Grandparents, both our parents, our clothes, and even some of Dalen's. I am also using some fabric that I've found out of my Great-Grandmother's stash of quilting material.

This will be my life for the foreseeable future.

I've gotten 5 blocks done!

We are getting pounded by snow right now. We decided that we needed to go to the grocery store to get some things before it started. Instead of doing this in a quick manner, we spent an hour eating in Ruby Tuesdays, which was delicious (I ate an awesome Santa Fe Chicken Salad.), then we went to Lowe's to buy supplies to remodel our laundry room. Pictures of that will coming soon. Then we finally made it around to going to Krogers, where we also spent more time than we should have. It had started snowing about half way into our dinner by the way. On the way home before we even got out of Athens we about did not make it up a hill, but almost made it over it insead. I cannot say I have never been so scared in my life because I don't remember an instance, but I could be wrong. I was really freakin scared, lets just leave it at that. Thank God we made it home safely! We were at least smart enough to leave Dalen with my parents while we went. If he would've been with us I would've been hysterical I'm sure. But also, I seriously doubt we would've went at all. Now that we are home safe and sound hopefully we can enjoy the snow from the comfort and warmth of our home.

Project 365: Day 33

It's finished!!! The scarf I've been working on is done!

Here's me knitting away.
(Thanks to Mr. Fix It for the photo)

The finished product...

I also wanted to share this...

On The Shabby Princess website, every month they feature a free desktop calendar download that you can insert your own pictures in. I make one every month and email to our family. They all love that there's pictures of Dalen, but also that it has the functionality of a calendar too.

Enjoy!

And Day 32

I just took this picture of Pomeroy and wanted to share it. It is one of my better pictures that I've taken recently.

Project 365: Day 31

Where did January go so fast? Oh well, it just lets me know that Springtime is on its way. And besides February is Birthday Month! Oh wait, don't remind me, I turn 29 :-(

Only 15 days until Valentine's Day!

I forgot to post last week that I lost another 1.4 lbs! That makes a total of 5 since returning to Weight Watchers.

I am also committed to finishing my scarf this week! I am bad about starting a project and getting tired of the pattern after awhile. But I'm kicking it in gear so I can get it finished. I am on the hunt for a new project. I'm thinking of making Dalen a new blanket since he has almost outgrown the one I made for him before. He's not so little anymore :-( I'm looking for a pattern that is bulky (as in yarn so it will be soft and mushy) and a fast knit because I have to have instant gratification on big projects or it will stay half-finished in my boredom pile.

I know I'm a day behind on my 365 project, so I'll catch it up next time ;-)
